A second room

Not meta second measured room

Improved A later registered study met the bar: A room never seen, one configuration at a time.

The test at a glance

What it tests
Accuracy against reality: whether physics with memory beats memory alone in a new room.
Data
Motus (Zenodo 4923187): one room in 830 furniture configurations, 4 loudspeaker positions.
Held out
Configurations checked in a seeded order; memory starts empty.
Compared against
Memory alone.
Bar
An anytime-valid test reaching 20 within the first 200 items.
Result
0.41 after 200 items: not met.

In a second measured room, neither registered condition was met: memory learned the room's own bias, and within a single room memory is as good as learned practice. Physics earns its place where measurements run out, which the next results showed.
