Siblings on the mother's side, in four years never read

Met24 cells, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016

The test at a glance

What it tests
Accuracy against reality: reported brothers and sisters, against the engine's count of the mother's other children.
Data
General Social Survey, US-born respondents, 24 cells in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. The survey counts full, half, step and adopted siblings.
Held out
The sibling answers of those four years.
Compared against
Gemini 3.8 Flash answering from what it has read.
Bar
Lower mean error over the 24 cells than the text model.
Result
0.28 against 0.51: met.

Living Worlds' count of each mother's other children came within 0.28 on average of the brothers and sisters Americans report (full, half, step and adopted), against 0.51 for a frontier model answering from what it has read, and was closer in every year (0.21, 0.25, 0.28 and 0.38 against 0.43, 0.51, 0.53 and 0.55). Children ever had: 0.10 against 0.16. Registered before any sibling answer from 2004, 2008, 2012 or 2016 was read, with the engine unchanged; scored on 24 cells of the General Social Survey. Adding the father's side gives 0.47, still ahead of the model, and that side became the next test.
